For this project I took an existing project I had done and turned it into a series of magaznie ads for dickblick.com. I found some art related quotes and created the ads I made. The idea of the original project was to take something and either scale it down way more than the normal objects or to make it a lot bigger, while having a reason on why we did what we did. My idea was that people do not appreciate art as much as they should and those who do not create art do not realize the amount of time and effort that goes into what has been made. We see art everyday whether we realize it or not so I made tiny art supplies and massive ones to show that even something so small can still have a huge impact on the world. The big art supplies show that these tools do have a big impact on us in our life and if we have to make them big for people to realize that then we will.
Process:
The original project I made the tiny art supplies out of clay and the smallest canvas and easel I could find. The big supplies I use are brooms and pool noodles with duck tape to make the paint brushed and then the paint pallet I used foam board glued one on to another cut out spots for the paint and brush and then stuck two of those together to make a full eight color pallet set. Then I used a massive roll of paper to paint the background. I even used my massive hand made broom brushes to paint on the background. Creating them into the magazine ads I took the pictures I had from the project and got down to the best three pictures I had and turned them into what they are now using indesign and mockups.
