This project my class worked with a real client in Amesbury Mass to help him create items for his museum called the Industrial History Center. There were four of us in the class and each got assigned something to work on for the entire semester. I was given the signage aspects to the whole project. Working with their logo to get a big sign for front entrance, to the banners they will have down the walk way, and the screen display mockups for the inside of the building. The space is small but it is being utilized well. The museum is going to have information about the history of Amesbury and the carriages that were built there. The main sign is going to be industrial looking to go with the building it is being placed on. The banners are going to have information about the year and some events that might be happening on them, along with pictures of events that have gone on within the space. The screen display have information of the exhibition that is going on in the museum at that time and will be switched whenever there's a new event or display going on.
Process:
In the process of this project every two weeks we would go from Merrimack, during class, and drive up to Amesbury. Presenting the work that we had done to the man who is running the whole operation of the museum. We would then get feedback from him and our teacher to fix what was needed for the next time we went there. From picking sign ideas to how we have a game within the town, everything was brought together in the end to give the coordinator a good spot to start physically creating what we have made for him over the summer.
